La Grandia Part 11: Brothers
Matthew Ryan Fischer
“Protect Yaz!” Jacob heard his father yell. His half-brother charged
into the crowd. It seemed like a suicide mission, but his brother turned out to
be a better fighter than Jacob had expected. The man with the six six on his
arm seemed to take a special interest in his brother. Perhaps it was the
tattoo. Jacob was just glad he wasn’t getting hit in the face anymore.
Jacob watched a man with a hammer smash in someone’s face. He didn’t
recognize either man. He didn’t think they worked for him or Arch, but he
couldn’t be sure. Where was Arch, he wondered. It was annoying. Arch and his
mean had cleared the lobby and were supposed to have killed everyone in the
conference room by now, but that clearly didn’t happen. Jacob had expected to
have confronted his father by now and either taken his place at his father’s
side, or have killed him. But nothing was going according to plan. There were
at least two other gangs here and the representatives from Naxis were still
alive.
Jacob didn’t want to join the fighting, but he didn’t see another
way through. The mob was filling up the halls and it seemed like fighting was
the only way out. His father could wait for now, the top priority for the
moment was survival.
